History
Dyfi Donkeys were established in 2006 with just two donkeys and now boast a stable of 6. They live out at Commins Coch(just past Machynlleth) on a smallholding of over 40 acres. They share their fields with two horses and a pony and can often be spotted if you are travelling to mid Wales by train.

The Dyfi Donkeys are committed to doing their bit for charity; 10 pence from every ride is donated to charity. Charities for 2009 are The Meirionnydd Special Riding Group(affiliated to RDA) www.msrg.org.uk and The Brooke ( a charity that helps working horses and donkeys in some of the poorest countries in the developing world - www.thebrooke.org.)

Part of their charity work is to do the DYFI DONKEY DAWDLE ; a 3 mile walk along the beach and back raising money for THE BROOKE. Anyone can take part either by paying an entry fee and joining us on the day , raising sponsorship money and ensuring themselves a free ride in the dawdle or just donating some money. More information from Louise or Kate on the beach or by phone 0771 702 0344 or by emailing dyfidonkeys@btinternet.com. This years’ Donkey Dawdle took place on Sunday 5th July and we managed to raise a staggering £650! Well Done
everyone who came and gave us support.

Other activities.
The donkeys are available for birthday parties(on the beach or at home), School and village fetes and shows, Christmas nativities or any time you might feel the need for a donkey. Past events include Mid Wales Housing Association Open Days, the Powys Wood Fair, Tywyn and Machynlleth junior school fetes and the Tom Holt steam rally, St Idloes church living nativity and nativity pageant, to name but a few. This year they are having their first go at acting ...we'll keep you posted as to how this goes.
The Dyfi Donkeys are also available to do film and TV work, their first foray into this field came this spring when Del-Boy and Spot were on location with the cast of up and coming S4C series "Cei bach". The donkeys whose alter egos are Tudno and Tesni will be making their screen debut in June 2010.
