The aim of the Society is to help members to enjoy and practise their art, encouraging and assisting newcomers to the hobby of painting and sketching, and also providing a practical base of instruction and information for the more experienced artists.  The Society also provides enjoyable social interaction with others who have similar interests.

The most important event in the Society's calendar is the Annual Summer Selling Exhibition held in the Neuadd Dyfi during the last week in July and the first week in August, at which both beginners and more experienced members show their work to the public.

Throughout the Spring to early Autumn, the Society has a programme of Outdoor Painting Days, held on the first and third Tuesdays in the month (except August) at various local beauty spots.  During the Autumn and Winter months, Painting Days are held in the warmth and comfort of the newly refurbished Dovey Yacht Clubhouse.  At these Tuesday meetings, the Society members often benefit from the tuition of experienced professional artists.

Art 4 All:   Recognizing that not everyone is free during the daytime to participate in the Society’s Tuesday activities, the Society runs a series of painting evenings, on the last-but-two and last Thursday of January, February, March, April, May, June, September, October, November and December.   These are held in the Tywyn Baptist Church, High Street (opposite the Post Office) from 7 pm to 9 pm. Beginners welcome.  Contact: Doug Duke on 01654 711105.

Among other social events, a Luncheon is arranged for members in the Spring, a BBQ in Summer and a Supper in October.
